The trip to Nantes - A belvedere at Château-Thébaud (44)

Construction of a gravity-defying footbridge.

MORE THAN A VIEWPOINT, A WORK OF ART

LE VOYAGE A NANTES, an organization promoting tourism through culture in the territory of the Nantes metropolis, has entrusted the JOSEPH PARIS / GTM Ouest group with the construction of a Corten steel belvedere in Château-Thébaud in the heart of the Loire vineyards.

This work designed by the architect RITZ, overlooking the Maine on the site of the Pont Caffino cliff and allowing visitors to challenge the void over a length of 15 m, is made up of 3 parts: a trellis frame with simple supports on 4 points (2 reinforced concrete stringers connect each line formed on the supports), guardrails and decking.
The belvedere allows a view below thanks to a glass railing at its end.
